Jean Paul Gaultier A/W Haute Couture 2013
The last of my favourites from the Paris HC shows.
Only two looks from this entire collection were worthy of highlighting due to the sheer precision and craftsmanship displayed.
The black corset over a sheer full length gown was an ingenious look and so beautifully put together. It was reminiscent of a 20’s cocktail gown but with a Metropolis edge.
The gold corset look was the finale for the collection which I really love but it reminds me so much of Thierry Mugler’s gold “robot suit”, which has to be said.
Despite this, it encompasses the outrageous and the extravagant which at the end of the day is a part of the spirit of artistic Haute Couture.
So that’s it…. until the 25th of September.
