I’m working stupid hours at the moment, so a more detailed explanation of this is going to have to wait. Basically its a series of barcharts based on the responses of 800 women to a survey about what sizes they wore. There’s a bunch of finickity stuff about discrete vs continuous variables and the generally poor specifications of whats counts as a particular dress size, and of course as its people responding online to a particular survey, they are likely to be a somewhat biased sample, but 800 respondants is a big number so that helps with representation.
I’m pretty certain it’s more data than most companies will ever show you. Most companies regard data on sizing, costings etc as commercially sensitive and keep it secret. The reasons its divided by age is because we were looking at how demographics affect size breakdowns.
