Today’s my birthday (the big 3-0), but I just wanted to take a second to say “Thank you!” to all of you for enabling me to do what I love!Being able to talk about lingerie for a living feels like the gift that keeps on giving, and I’m able to do it because of your shares, reblogs, comments, and likes. Thank you for talking about lingerie with me. Thank you for following me here. Thank you for sharing TLA (and the love of lingerie!) with your friends. My husband and I are in Napa Valley for a bit of a long weekend away, so I’m off to sip on a bit more wine, but I just wanted to take a second to say all this.Have an awesome day,
Cora :-)P.S. Two birthday giveaways just went live on my main site today! I’ll do the official postings and such about them tomorrow, but you can get a head start now if you like. ^_^Photo Credit: Lydia Hudgens

Chemise
1920s

Rita de Acosta Lydig (1880-1929), a noted beauty and style icon of the early 20th century, owned this nightgown. Many of de Acosta Lydig’s garments feature lace panels or trim which likely came from her extensive personal collection. The Valenciennes lace on the bodice is exceptionally fine and worked in a manner that gives very detailed definition to the flower parts. The ribbon straps and inclusion of the owner’s name in openwork embroidery are additional signs of high-quality custom craftsmanship.
