Most reputable corsetieres will tell you that a waist training corset should be made to fit you. Even What Katie Did, probably the most famous off-the-rack corset maker in the world, stresses how important it is that her incredibly fine quality corsets not be used for waist training. It’s a perspective I agree with.
I don’t know what your budget is, but we’ve written a lot of articles about corsets on the blog. You can find them, including a piece on quality corsets that cost $155 or less, in our Lingerie Addict FAQ.
With corsets, more than perhaps any other item of lingerie, the quality you pay for is the quality you get. So I’d prioritize which is most important to your waist training goals: a cheap corset or a good corset. Because unless you have a tightlacing friend that’s willing to sell you some good corsets for cheap, it’s impossible to find one that’s both.

I’ve heard it all: that’s unhealthy, that’s disgusting, why would you do that to yourself, and so on. At first you may think that people are having an adverse reaction to some kind of crazy surgery or mega tattoo, but the hubbub is actually about a classic piece of lingerie: the corset.
